A slate that keeps the evening’s work

A takhti is the small wooden slate children in India write on with chalk. The afternoon’s lesson is wiped clean by evening. The register, the fees and the parent messages are not.

Takhtee starts from that slate. A tutor or a coaching centre opens an institute, adds students, and a small set of agents — with Takhtu in front — keeps the day moving: who joined, who attended, whose fee is due, what the parent should hear, and what the child should practise.

The owners we build for teach all day, mostly in Hindi, mostly on a phone. The product has to work there, in that language, at a price a 40-student tuition can pay.
